“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”
– Albert Einstein
Several music programs teach musical concepts in a very formal
and rote manner. I believe that for young children, the emphasis
should always be on the joy of singing, dancing, and making music with
friends; the joy of listening to beautiful, soothing ot inspiring sounds; andÂ
the joy of creative self-expression. There’s plenty of time for formal
terminology and technique later – kids just want to have fun!
