This week I read a story with an elephant on the cover. 
As I usually do, I showed the class the cover of the 
book first and we talked about it. “Who knows what
this animal on the cover is?” I asked.

Quick as a wink, a girl shouted out, “An elevator!”

Later in that same class, we were talking about cats
for some reason. One little boy raised his hand and
informed me, “Miss Abby, cats are allergic to people!”
I knew what he meant so I just said, “Yes, that’s right,”
but I couldn’t help thinking how lucky we are that
cats aren’t really allergic to us!
