I had a wonderful time at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference in Orlando last week! Thank you to the terrific participants who joined me for my presentation “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” based on my new book. You really threw yourselves into the activities with enthusiasm and I appreciate it!
I had many adventures and met friends old and new, which I’ll be talking about in coming posts. The biggest highlight for me was having the opportunity to have a beautiful conversation with Alice Sterling Honig, the author and professor from Syracuse University whose wisdom and insights on the needs of young children have inspired me for years. We spoke about the importance of singing to young children and she even sang me gorgeous lullabies in Russian and Yiddish! Dr. Honig truly radiates peace, kindness, and gentleness. It was a blessing to speak with her.
